You’ve got better things to do than hang around washing and drying your waterproof shells – there are mountains to climb and hills to explore! Periodic washing is essential to maintain your gear’s waterproof abilities and without it the item may go beyond restoration. This is more important than ever as we make the move to fluorocarbon-free DWRs, which need to be revitalised more frequently to keep them performing at their best.
The gear experts at our Service Centre will return your Rab GORE-TEX, Pertex® or Proflex™ shell jacket or pants to peak condition and prolong their working life. We'll wash one Rab item per wash purchased.

Why wash your Rab waterproof gear with our Service Centre?

Periodic washing is essential to maintain your gear’s waterproof abilities and without it the item may go beyond restoration. Don’t miss the opportunity to extend the life of your kit. After rigorous mountain use, you may notice your waterproof gear is not as effective as when you first bought it. Over time the DWR (durable water repellent) coating tends to wear out, causing the garment to soak up moisture, affecting weight and breathability. Sweat, dirt and residue from cosmetics can also become impregnated into the fabric.

So why not let us do the hard work while you plan the next adventure? An expert refresh should return your kit to its full potential, neutralising odours, boosting breathability, and restoring water repellence. Your gear will be gently washed, expertly dried, and fully reproofed for renewed protection out on the mountain.

Our Wash Promise

Not satisfied with the result of your Rab Waterproof Shell Wash? We promise to take another look. We’ll inspect, and either re-wash your gear, or give you your money back.

Terms and Conditions

Our Wash Promise applies to all Rab clothing with a waterproof membrane.
The garment must not have been re-washed or re-proofed after the original service by either you or a third party.
The garment’s outer shell and waterproof membrane must not be damaged. This includes rips, tears, improperly applied waterproofing solutions, excessive sun fade, or fabric degradation due to improper care or ageing.

A request for a re-inspection must be made within two weeks of receipt of the garment after it has been washed. Please use the Service Centre contact form and include the original order number.

Please note

All waterproof clothing is washed at 30 degrees to avoid damage to the membrane and seams. Although this will remove most dirt, some stubborn stains may remain. We recommend washing gear regularly to avoid a build up of dirt.
