How to Repair a Sleeping Bag

How to repair a sleeping bag.

If youā€™ve torn your down sleeping bag when youā€™re in the middle of nowhere, use our simple techniques to keep your bag in action until you can send it to our Service Centre for a more permanent repair.Ā

For smaller snags where individual feathers are escaping, you might not even need to patch it up. Simply pull any exposed down back into the sleeping bag from the inside so as not to make the hole larger, then wet your fingers and rub the fabric to seal the hole.Ā

If the tear is larger than a pin prick, pinch and push any exposed down back into the baffle. Clean the affected area and apply a repair patch of a suitable size and shape ā€“ a circle is ideal as it avoids lifting at the corners. Avoid patching across the stitch lines of your sleeping bag if possible, and use the back of your nail to smooth the patch down.Ā

Once youā€™re back from your multi-day adventure, send your down sleeping bag to our Service Centre for a full repair.Ā
