How to repair a GORE-TEX jacket.

If your GORE-TEX jacket gets torn when you’re far off the beaten track, you’ll need to know how to patch it up temporarily to keep it in action until you can send it to our Service Centre for a more permanent fix.  

  1. Make sure you keep a stock of spare patches in your pack just in case. 

  2. Before you apply a patch repair to your GORE-TEX jacket, clean the affected area as much as possible. 

  3. Once it’s clean, select a repair patch of a suitable size. Ideally opt for a circle as it’s less likely to peel away, but any patch shape will work. 

  4. Apply the patch, taking care to avoid patching across the stitching. Use the back of your nail to smooth it down. 

This should see you through for the remainder of your trip. Once you’re back, send your GORE-TEX jacket to our Service Centre for a professional repair.
