Hetty Kingston

What began as a casual hobby quickly grew into a full-time passion, as Hetty found joy in combining her love of route planning and endurance with the thrill of exploring lesser-trodden trails. Alongside her personal adventures, she has built her work around welcoming others into the outdoors. 

Hetty's adventures are as varied as they are ambitious. She thrives on personal challenges, often biting off more than she can chew but finding immense satisfaction in pushing her limits. From a 400-mile bikepacking loop in Slovenia to ski touring in Kazakhstan, and even towing her 1-year-old twins during a 260km bikepacking race in the Swiss mountains, Hetty has a wealth of unforgettable experiences. She also loves showing others her favourite trails closer to home through her role as an organiser of the Peak Gravel Gang - a friendly, inclusive group for off-road cyclists. 

When she’s not on her bike, Hetty is passionate about improving accessibility and inclusivity in the outdoors. Her work spans both research and event organisation, with a focus on mental wellbeing, participation and sustainability. From organizing sell-out festivals like the Women’s Trad Festival to planning epic long-distance events such as a 7,767km relay from Glasgow to Egypt to deliver a climate message to world leaders, Hetty doesn’t shy away from challenges in her work either.
