Penny Oxby
Penny is a passionate climber and video creator. Although not a professional, she dedicates every minute to climbing outside of her normal working life (project manager). If not training at the climbing wall, belaying at the crag then she is most likely editing a video of her latest ascent.
Now based in Spain, although originally from the south of the UK. Penny was not born into climbing, until around 23, she didn’t really know it existed. However, she was always drawn to the mountains, most summers spent in Snowdonia or the Peaks, running and walking the incredible landscapes.
Finding climbing just after university, when a friend invited her to the local climbing gym in London, the Castle Climbing Centre. Penny later moved to Catalunya, Spain to be closer to rock and pursue her climbing goals, then moving further north, closer to the mountains of the Basque country.
Now, merging her passions, Penny creates video content about climbing. Starting a YouTube channel a little over a year ago, following her climbing journey. She wants others to be welcomed into the community, climbing is not an ‘easy’ sport. There are many battles to be had, be it physical or mental, her content acts as a support for any climbers that need it.
