Jonathan Joly

Jonathan Joly

A professional mountain guide, and above all a mountaineer by passion, Jonathan lives in the Hautes Alpes, a small village called Freissinieres in France.Ā Ā

Immersed in the mountains and climbing from a very young age, he quickly caught the climbing bug. Until the age of 18, Jonathan practiced climbing 4 to 5 times a week, alternating between competitions and cliffs.Ā Ā He then discovered the high mountains, and with it came infinite possibilities.Ā Ā

At 19, he was presented the high mountain guide diploma, then in the meantime joined the French mountain rescue (PGHM) for 10 years.Ā Ā Since Ieaving this institution he has devoted himself 100% to his passion, the mountain in all its aspects.Ā Ā

Ice climbing has become a constant motivation, always looking for famous pieces of hanging ice cubes.Ā Ā Travelling the world to discover and share this obsession. Constantly looking for new possible openings, whether in mixed or pure ice, or simply the pleasure of climbing an ice line.

More recently, Jonathan has associated paragliding with his climbs. Making combos in para-alpinism redefines the possibilities. In the middle of all this, he continues to practice his profession, and to take friends around the world to share with them a common passion.Ā Ā

From the highest peak in South America, the frozen parodies of Quebec, to the powdery slopes of Norway, or in the great rock faces of the Alps, on each outing, the same motivation.Ā
