Durable, difficult to recycle and often abandoned at end of life, discarded fishing nets pose long-term risks to marine ecosystems and coastal communities. NetPlus® helps keep the nets out of the environment by supporting fishing communities to return them for recycling at the end of their life. Local fishers play a central role in shaping the collection system, supported by fair compensation and funding for environmental and community projects.
Technical innovation
After being washed, dried, and shredded, the nets are transformed into nylon yarn, which is then woven into lightweight, durable face fabrics. This process helps keep existing materials in circulation while still meeting the rigorous demands of mountain use.

These high-performance fabrics are now incorporated into some of our most-loved and longstanding designs, such as our bestselling Microlight down jacket, crafted from Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus®.
