Material Facts | Data Behind Sustainability Claims
Sustainability. It’s complicated.
The outdoor industry has long been passionate about reducing our impact and preserving our mountain playground. But we recognise that sustainability claims about our products can be confusing.
We know that you expect more. That you want us to be clear about what’s in our products and where they’re made.
Material Facts is the way forward.
We’re helping you to make informed choices by giving you the raw data. Clear. Concise. Honest.
You can find Material Facts tables for all new apparel and sleeping bags on our product pages.
Why Material Facts?
Discover why we introduced Material Facts and hear our plans for it to evolve in the future.
We’ve expanded Material Facts to include equipment and packs, but this was no small feat. The complexity of pack design has made this the greatest challenge yet in our mission for transparency. Every single component of a pack must be weighed and analysed to calculate with the accuracy required for our Material Facts tables. To put this into context, our packs range contains between 39-298 components – that’s a lot of weighing!
This expansion means we now have tables for 99% of our AW24 products.
Due to the large number of components in packs, we’ve taken the opportunity to reformat our Material Facts tables to improve clarity.
We’ve also included a new product characteristic, now sharing the % of renewable energy used in the final product manufacturing stage as our next phase of transparency. After recycled materials, renewable energy is one of the biggest drivers in our carbon reduction strategy and is a natural progression for our data expansion.
Looking ahead, we’ll continue to expand Material Facts data provided and are already gathering feedback from industry groups, peers, and consumers to find the priorities.
We purposely created Material Facts as a non-branded tool, allowing us to offer our methodology to others in the industry – it’s now time to put that theory into practice.
We are always looking to improve our products, so sometimes their Material Facts data changes.

The Material Facts data has been calculated by component, by item and by weight. Each table has been manually checked by product and material experts and cross-checked with fabric and factory certificates. We rely on our partners across our supply chain to provide us with timely, accurate and up-to-date information. We have taken all reasonable steps to ensure accuracy. However, it is possible that inadvertent errors and tolerances in data may occur.
