Dear friends, Pictures of my recent photo trips to the Italian Dolomites are online!

To be more flexible in following the autumn colours, Marion and I drove around in a rented Mobil home; for us a totally new way of travelling. It was wonderful to wake up in a "world of luxury" at the base of the Drei Zinnen south face but it also taught us the limitations when temperatures drop below zero...

That nature creates its own conditions is no longer a secret to us... Aside from awesome sunny days and clear nights during which we were surrounded by a million stars, we also encountered "seem to last forever" rain days, thick fog and heavy snowstorms...

Because the Dolomites are one of our favourite destinations, you now find all related photos in the new Mountains Europe - Dolomites gallery:

teNeues published a 2013 "USA National Parks by Werner Van Steen"  calendar, which was sold out only a few months after its release. A new 2014 version will go in print somewhere in the middle of this year. We will inform you in time  :-)

KvH Verlag published a huge (38,58 x 19,69 in / 98 x 50 cm) panoramic calendar titled “Alexander Von Humboldt - Reise um den Aquator – 2013”. Two photos of Werner were used including the cover photo (Iguacu Falls).

The third edition of the Dutch Mountains Film Festival (DMFF) is to be held in Heerlen (Netherlands) on January 18-19-20 2013. It’s an international mountain film festival about people in the mountains and people who literally move mountains. Various programs with inspiring mountain films, mountain photography, presentations, music, art, outdoor activities, authentic food and much more. A selection of Werner's best mountain photos will be presented in the photo exhibition. More info:

On this occasion, Marion and I would very much like to thank our wonderfull sponsor RAB!
