The women’s Flashpoint Jacket is a super lightweight waterproof jacket, that manages to save on weight without skimping on features. Using Pertex Shield + 3-layer fabric, it is the lightest waterproof jacket I have ever seen. Weighing 160g, you won’t notice it is in your pack!
Packing down so small and being so lightweight it’s ideal to carry in your pack ready for when you need it
In the past, I have always found that the lighter a jacket is, the less hard-wearing it is and the less breathable it is. However, this jacket has proved me wrong on both counts. I have worn it in all seasons, whether running, hill walking or climbing. I have found it to be breathable, windproof and, most importantly, it has kept me dry.
Packing down so small and being so lightweight it’s ideal to carry in your pack ready for when you need it. It also comes with a stuff sack to help it pack down even tighter and is so small I have even carried it in my handbag!
It’s slim fitting and doesn’t feel chunky like some hardshells can. The arms are close fitting too, meaning that gloves will fit over them. Gloves are then easy to take on and off without the faff of the cuffs being in the way, and it’s easy to pull the glove up.
The slim-fitting cut of the jacket means that water doesn’t seep up through the cuffs like I have found it does with other waterproofs.
It has a large hood that fits over a helmet. The toggles will pull in close around your face and are easy to use with gloves on. The high collar feels snug and helps to keep the wind and rain off your face.
This is a jacket I would highly recommend if you are heading to the hills, or a runner heading out in all conditions.
